Is there any risk in rescheduling a fingerprinting appt? I am travelling when the appointment is currently scheduled for:(. Does that impact the overall processing times of 485/EAD/AP?

I was in a similar situation as you and had to use this firm. H1B filing experience was fine but the entire GC process and filing was not a good experience at all. There were days I had to call the paralegal and teach him the new immigration laws and that's never a good sign ! Because of their mistake I was stuck in Eb3 rather being in Eb2. May be they will deal differently with your case but have a chat with them and your company managers before you agree to use them. I m with another company and another attorney firm and they are awesome !
Anyway, pm me if you need more info. Good luck,

This is one of the threads ...
If you go to the main forums page - it lists all the sub-forums, there is one for self- filing. You'll find lot of guidance and experiences there

Are there people who are current now, who have no Priority Date mentioned on the I-485, EAD and AP receipts? (i.e. the PD box is blank)
The priority date is shown on my I-140 receipt, but not on the aforementioned documents.
Does anyone know how to correct this problem? Thanks much.
Dont worry. My 485 receipt also does not show the PD. Per my attorney its ok.

Is it a good idea for Moderators/Admin to create new forum for the GC approved folks. This purposes is to...
To retain them and could be helpful with their experiences for other members.
This is another way of giving it back.

Some people are reporting Name check / FP cleared status with their signatures. How can one find out the status?

Hello Friends :
I recd. an email from my attorney this evening stating that "We have mailed you the FOIA request for your and your spouse's signature."
This doesnt make any sense to me, as to what does FOIA mean to start with. So I emailed them back asking, what does it mean and is it something to do like RFE towards my AOS papers filed on 2nd July,2007 (no checks cashed yet, no info in system yet).
My Attorney replied back stating that - "We have filed for full copies of your petitions to be sent to us. The FOIA will allow us to obtain a copy to check the integrity of the filing for our records. Looks like, it will be several years before these I-485 petitions are actually reviewed by the Service unless we see a change in the law. ."
What does this all mean? I am so confused....
Pls. advise me. Thanks a lot

My MTR was received by USCIS on June 25, 2009. Today I received an auto-generated email with case status update. My MTR has been denied :-(
Any advice for the next steps is appreciated.

I lost my job about a month ago with fortune company where I had my H1 and then I filed to transfer my H1 to the GC filing company. It got approved last week. They even seem to have sent the I 94 with the H1 approval.
I have a visa from the earlier company(fortune company) till dec 2009 in my passport. Do I now need to get a fresh visa again with the new (GC) company that has sponsored my H1. Or is the visa validity in my passport is good enough to work even for the new employer?
Your old visa stamp is good.

Wrong forum iuiukk..This forum is only for LEGAL employment based immigration issues. You will not find a single soul here in IV that will help you or give advice to you to do anything illegal. We are law abiding professionals and so you are looking for advice in the wrong forum.
I came to US on B2 10-year multiple visa, my I-94 is going to expire in a few weeks (first time extension approved ). My husbands citizenship application has been pending for the past 10 months, it is in internal security check , so don't know how long it will take to clear.
What are the consequences if I over stay on my B1 visa for about 150 days, during which I apply for my I-130 and then go back to my home country and go for the consulor processing. Is this can be done? I got different opinions so confused. Would it impact my consular interview?
The hope is my husbands citizenship would be approved before that and I might never have to leave the US.
Thanks in advance.

Hello everybody,
First of all I must appologize because I mentioned this in the forum before but that was a different question that I asked.
My wife's Labor lists a 4 year degree with a BS in Mechanical Engineering as a requirement.
We filed I-140 with her old H1B evaluation which says she has a 4 year degree in Civil Engineering (stupid me  ).
I found another evaluator who looked closely and gave us an evaluation for BS in Mechanical Engineering because her degree is way closer to the Mechanical than it is to the Civil Eng.
Will USCIS reject this I-140 on the spot based on the fact that she doesn't meet the requirements or issue an RFE ? If they issue an RFE and we send the Mechanical Eng. evaluation, will the fact that we filed first with the Civil Eng evaluation cause any problems ? Are we assuming the worst and is not such a big deal ??
She worked on H1B for 7 years as a Mech Eng and this is NOT a labour substitution.
Thanks for any help !
